Piracetam’s dosage is 100x less potent than that of noopept, making it both the earliest and least potent racetam. The standard piracetam dose for adults is between 1,200-4,800mg a day. The largest effective dose is 1,600mg taken three times a day for a total of 4,800mg.

For the first couple weeks, I experimented with different doses, and I found that 3-6g of Piracetam with little to no Choline was ideal. I was having superb effects; fluid thinking and talking, sharper memory, and felt overall great.

How Pramiracetam Improves Memory (Mechanism) Googling, you sometimes see correlational studies like Intake of Flavonoid-Rich Wine, Tea, and Chocolate by Elderly Men and Women Is Associated with Better Cognitive Test Performance; in this one, the correlated performance increase from eating chocolate was generally fairly modest (say, <10%), and the maximum effects were at 10g/day of what was probably milk chocolate, which generally has 10-40% chocolate liquor in it, suggesting any experiment use 1-4g. More interesting is the blind RCT experiment Consumption of cocoa flavanols results in acute improvements in mood and cognitive performance during sustained mental effort11, which found improvements at ~1g; the most dramatic improvement of the 4 tasks (on the Threes correct) saw a difference of 2 to 6 at the end of the hour of testing, while several of the other tests converged by the end or saw the controls winning (Sevens correct). Crews et al 2008 found no cognitive benefit, and an fMRI experiment found the change in brain oxygen levels it wanted but no improvement to reaction times. Your reaction to FL Modafinil is interesting. One of the neurotransmitters it affects is histamine which you could have a problem with. But it would take much more research on your part to learn exactly how FL Modafinil works in your brain. Before you try nootropics, I suggest you start with the basics: get rid of the things in your diet and life that reduce cognitive performance first. That is easiest. Then, add in energizers like Brain Octane and clean up your diet. Then, go for the herbals and the natural nootropics. Use the pharmaceuticals selectively only after you’ve figured out your basics. Severity of other neurologic symptom scores did not improve significantly. Two patients reported drowsiness during the first 2 weeks of treatment.

  4. It is important to note that even natural substances that improve cognition do have an effect of some kind of the brain. While there isn’t a single way that they work, most affect the brain by changing the neurochemicals or hormones in the brain. It goes without saying that it is vitally important to ensure the safety of any substance and check with a doctor before using anything that may affect the mind in this way (especially if pregnant or nursing) and many are not recommended at all during pregnancy/nursing.

Having a specific, realistic goal for all study sessions is essential. Expecting to accomplish too much in the time you have leads to discouragement. Setting, and achieving, goals leads to a sense of accomplishment. This is also critical for reducing stress and meeting deadlines. Underestimating how long a task will take is likely to result in having less time to do another task, which causes stress.
Even at n=600 (nearly 2 years), the estimated power is only 32%. This is absurdly small and such an experiment would be a waste of time.
I recently started exercise again, since my autocure process is going well, and my neurotransmitters are getting fixed. Got my abs back, my muscles are getting bigger and sculpt again. But there is a problem that might be big, or little… I have some stomach upsets, bad digestion, and I think my liver, and even maybe kidneys are not very well. I know i have an infection in my intestines, kind of like, almost, or now a ulcera, that gets worst, swelled, it’s nervous, and closes, making me feel really bad, stopping my digestions, and consequently provoking me anxiety and panic after (normal). I’ve recently had some exams, and the results were fine… that’s what the doctor said. But I don’t feel well (that was long before I started this new autocure process), the skin peeling on my right hand is advancing covering my hand, I also have 2 white marcs on 2 of my right hand nails, and those are indicators that something is wrong. Plus, the swelled feeling on the liver and galblader area, and my intuition. Most probably I have to be seen by a naturopath.
Published evidence does not support the use of piracetam in the treatment of people with dementia or cognitive impairment. Although effects were found on global impression of change, no benefit was shown by any of the more specific measures of cognitive function.

Get the rhythm. If you can fit your work schedule around your circadian rhythms you’ll harness your brain at its best. Most of us reach peak alertness at 10am, coordination is best at 2pm, reaction times are fastest around 3pm and muscle strength climaxes at 5pm. Deepest sleep occurs around 2am so make sure you’re tucked up well before then for maximum focus the next day.

  5. So the answer is yes, M/P did fall as I expected; but also as one would expect given daily variation and the small sample of off days (19 days), the result is not very statistically robust (even ignoring the low quality of data from a natural experiment). But it was an easy experiment to run and the result had the right sign, as they say.

  6. Safety:
Take quarter at midnight, another quarter at 2 AM. Night runs reasonably well once I remember to eat a lot of food (I finish a big editing task I had put off for weeks), but the apathy kicks in early around 4 AM so I gave up and watched Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, finishing around 6 AM. I then read until it’s time to go to a big shotgun club function, which occupies the rest of the morning and afternoon; I had nothing to do much of the time and napped very poorly on occasion. By the time we got back at 4 PM, the apathy was completely gone and I started some modafinil research with gusto (interrupted by going to see Puss in Boots). That night: Zeo recorded 8:30 of sleep, gap of about 1:50 in the recording, figure 10:10 total sleep; following night, 8:33; third night, 8:47; fourth, 8:20 (▇▁▁▁).

  7. And start experimenting with some adaptogens. Try them one at a time and see how you feel. It will likely take using each one for a week of so before you can decide if it’s really working for you or not.
Oh, and by the way: that feeling of “pressure” in the frontal lobe? Especially on the left side (usually – it may be right, depending on your condition, but is rarely symmetrical)? It’s also described as a feeling of “emptiness” or “deadness”.

Powders are good for experimenting with (easy to vary doses and mix), but not so good for regular taking. I use OO gel capsules with a Capsule Machine: it’s hard to beat $20, it works, it’s not that messy after practice, and it’s not too bad to do 100 pills. However, I once did 3kg of piracetam + my other powders, and doing that nearly burned me out on ever using capsules again. If you’re going to do that much, something more automated is a serious question! (What actually wound up infuriating me the most was when capsules would stick in either the bottom or top try – requiring you to very gingerly pull and twist them out, lest the two halves slip and spill powder – or when the two halves wouldn’t lock and you had to join them by hand. In contrast: loading the gel caps could be done automatically without looking, after some experience.)
